‘BRIGH’ Twisted Tree sculpture

This item is not available to purchase, but is an example of some of the work by Michelle Innes of Twisted by Mish.

“Brigh” Twisted Tree sculpture.

“BRIGH”
‘A resonant shield of light surrounding me, my space and all those within. Protected from all that intends harm and all that is low.
The spirit of life keeping all those under the sheild fulfilled, aware, calm and most importantly safe and loved.’

Named ‘Brigh’ (pronounced Bree) after The Celtic Goddess Brighid, as she along with all mothers and their protective nature have inspired me to create her. The legend of how Brighid obtained the land for her monastery from the king of Leinster with her cloak, and how it grew to cover the land she’d requested is how I envision the field of protective love that blanket’s a mother’s children and home.
The Celtic hearth goddess, originally a patron of poets and bards, but was also known to watch over women in childbirth, and thus evolved into a goddess of hearth and home. We honor Brighid in spring, during the celebration of Imbolc.

Brigh stands a total of 21cm tall and has been created from old discarded electrical wire, amethyst crystal beads, a 13cm x 8cm x 5cm peice of Black Tourmaline, and a 5cm long selenite rod. Her total weight is 900g.
